Analysis of the key themes driving deal activity reveals that cybersecurity accounted for 48 automotive deals between 2018 and 2022, worth a total value of $404m, according to GlobalData’s Deals database covering mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture financing, equity offerings and partnerships. The $16m venture financing secured by Nanjing Chuhang Technology was the largest disclosed deal in 2022, while the $150m venture financing secured by Socure was the largest disclosed deal in 2021.
In volume terms, cybersecurity related deal activity decreased by 8% year-on-year in 2022 and increased by 160% year-on-year in 2021.
